GALILEO Troubleshooting

Most issues that patrons have with Galileo is logging in and can be solved by following these steps:

  1. Make sure you are signing in through Thomas University-USA (NOT OpenAthens-OpenAthens will give you an error message). 
  2. Make sure you are signing in with your Thomas University credentials, the same way you would log into Canvas.  (do not use your complete email address….just first name. last name ex:  Correct:  john.smithIncorrect:  john.smith@student.thomasu.edu) You will use the same password you use to login to Canvas.
  3. If you are still receiving an error message after following the above steps, try clearing your browser history, occasionally an old page will continue to reload.  Clearing your browser will stop this.
  4. Try a different browser such as Firefox or Safari. 
  5. You can also try different access points or login into Galileo directly, sometimes the access links are experiencing technical difficulties.  You can login to Galileo at:   galileo.usg.edu   Make sure you select the correct institution when accessing directly.
