Accessing GALILEO Off-Campus

OpenAthens is the authentication portal to GALILEO, a state-wide database of academic resources.   OpenAthens uses authentication software that recognizes the user through their institution, eliminating the need for a specific password for access.     Thomas University students, faculty and staff can now log in using only their TU credentials.

If you're off-campus, you'll be prompted to enter your TU username and password to log in using the Thomas University USA option:

  1. Start at the Library Website or Library Tools located in any of your classes in Canvas and click on the GALILEO search button in the middle of the screen.
  2. At the login screen, click on the first option: Thomas University-USA.
  3. Enter the same TU username and password that you use for HawkLink and Canvas. (NOTE: YOUR USERNAME SHOULD NEVER END IN @STUDENT.THOMASU.EDU or THOMASU.EDU;  example:   CORRECT:  jon.snow   INCORRECT:  jon.snow@student.thomasu.edu)
  4. Logging in grants you access to GALILEO, where you can find articles, newspapers, photos, videos, and more.
