OpenAthens is the authentication portal to GALILEO, a state-wide database of academic resources. OpenAthens uses authentication software that recognizes the user through their institution, eliminating the need for a specific password for access. Thomas University students, faculty and staff can now log in using only their TU credentials.
If you're off-campus, you'll be prompted to enter your TU username and password to log in using the Thomas University USA option:
- Start at the Library Website or Library Tools located in any of your classes in Canvas and click on the GALILEO search button in the middle of the screen.
- At the login screen, click on the first option: Thomas University-USA.
- Enter the same TU username and password that you use for HawkLink and Canvas. (NOTE: YOUR USERNAME SHOULD NEVER END IN @STUDENT.THOMASU.EDU or THOMASU.EDU; example: CORRECT: jon.snow INCORRECT: firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Logging in grants you access to GALILEO, where you can find articles, newspapers, photos, videos, and more.
