Step 4: Running Two Descriptive Analyses: Frequencies and Descriptives

In order to run analyses on your data, start by clicking on the Analyze menu option near the top of the SPSS screen, hover the mouse over Descriptive Statistics, and then click on Frequencies.

Add each variable to the Variable(s) list by selecting it in the list on the left-hand side of the Frequencies pop-up window and then clicking on the arrow. Once all variables have been added, click on the OK button.

SPSS will generate a frequency table for each of your variables.

Return to your dataset in order to run another analysis. After clicking on the Analyze menu option near the top of the SPSS screen, hover the mouse over Descriptive Statistics, and then click on Descriptives. Repeat the above steps for adding each variable to the Variable(s) list, and then click on the OK button.
