EDU 601: Orientation to Advanced Programs in Education

The purpose of this course is to introduce advanced candidates to key assessments and additional program requirements that are required for program completion and/or certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Welcome to the Graduate Education Orientation Library Module

This guide will introduce you to both physical and electronic library resources, including how to access a variety of research materials.

Before searching, you can limit your results to a specific format by clicking on either the "Books and eBooks" or "Articles" tab.

Sign in to your library account using your TU credentials: username and password.

Your library account lets you view your currently checked out items, holds, and bills.
When signed in, you can also place interlibrary loan requests directly from the catalog.

The TU Library has access to over 360,000 eBooks!

After logging in to GALILEO, click on the Databases A-Z button.
Search for eBooks on EBSCOhost in the Find Database search box.
Click on the eBooks on EBSCOhost link.

How to Send an eBook to Your Kindle

  1. Go here and install the "Send to Kindle" converter. This allows you to send files to your Kindle from a PC.
  2. Back in eBooks, after performing your book search, click on "PDF Full Text" under the title you want to read.
  3. Click on "save pages" on the right-hand side with the orange floppy disc icon. (Beware that some books will limit the amount of pages you can save.)
  4. Now open the file saved to your computer and when you right-click on the title you should see the "Send to Kindle" icon.
  5. Click on "Send to Kindle" and login with your Amazon account information and specify which Kindle to send the book to.
  6. Enjoy for 7 days!

In addition to scholarly articles, GALILEO has information from encyclopedias, photographs, videos, and more!

The TU Library also has DVDs and audiobooks on CD.


Search for them in our catalog!

After searching, you can narrow down the format by selecting either Video or Audiobook under the Format heading on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click on Show More if you don't see either option listed!
