Changes to Operations

Thomas University Library will remain closed for the remainder of the semester. To support your academic needs most Library and Tutoring services will still be available virtually. Connect with us by making an appointment, via our chat or through email.

 

Changes to Events

All workshops will be offered via Zoom to accommodate remote learners. Please visit our Event Calendar for up-to-date information on planned events.

 

Changes to Library Services

Library Collections: Many of the TU Library collections are digital and available from off campus through GALILEOPhysical collections will not be available while the Library is closed

 

Due Dates and Fines: Due dates have been extended until further notice and fines will be waived for TU-owned library materials. For information about interlibrary loan items, please contact tulibrary@thomasu.edu.

 

Research Help: Reference and general research assistance is available online through our Ask A Librarian service, which is staffed whenever the library is open. For more in-depth research help, including research consultations on Zoom, please contact Tara Hagan at thagan@thomasu.edu or make an appointment.

 

Interlibrary Loan: Nationwide Interlibrary Loan services are being affected by university and library closures, and many places are no longer able to send print materials. At this time, ILL requests for scanned articles and book chapters will continue, though these services may be limited due to staffing. If you need materials, please submit an ILL Request Form or reach out to the Library about eBook and/or eResource availability. For information about interlibrary loan due dates, please contact tulibrary@thomasu.edu.

 

Tutoring: Tutoring will be offered via Ask-a-Tutor chat and Zoom for the remainder of the semester. Tutors are available Monday through Thursday from 10 am - 6 pm.

 

Instruction: Librarians are available to support classes with instruction and research help while classes meet remotely. In addition to research skills, we can help you identify quality online, open, or primary source resources to use in your online teaching. To request library instruction, please reach out to Tara Hagan at thagan@thomasu.edu or fill out a request form

 

Copyright Questions: The TU Librarian is available to consult about copyright questions that you may face as you transition to online teaching. Please contact Tara Hagan at thagan@thomasu.edu.

 

Special Collections: Special Collections & Archives Staff are available for remote research consultations and to help identify online primary sources to support online and asynchronous instruction. Please contact tulibrary@thomasu.edu for assistance.
