What is my username?
Your username is your email address.
What is my password?
Your password is your Canvas password.
*Typically, this is your student number but in some instances your password may be your first name followed by a sequence of numbers. If you are unsure of your password, contact your professor.*
What browser should I use when accessing library resources?
You should use the latest browser versions of Firefox,Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari. Not all browsers are compatible with our electronic resources.
When do I need to login to OpenAthens?
You will only need to authenticate (login) once to start an 8 hour long OpenAthens session. During that time, you will not be asked to authenticate again (unless you change devices or clear your cookies).
What is OpenAthens?
OpenAthens is a new, more secure gateway that allows you to access Thomas University Library and GALILEO resources.
What Changed?
The GALILEO password is no longer needed, so you don't have to remember a new password each semester. Instead, you use your username and the password you created to access resources through Open Athens.
What Stayed the Same?
There is no change to the number of resources you may access via a library web page or GALILEO, so you should still be able to continue with your work and research with very little disruption.
