General Format:

Author’s Last Name, First Initial. Second Initial. (YEAR). Chapter title. Title of the book (pp. #-#). Publishing Company.

If the chapter has a DOI, include the chapter DOI in the reference after the publisher name.

Authored book chapter (same person has written all chapters)

When you have paraphrased a chapter, cite the specific chapter in the in-text citation along with the author and year.

When you have directly quoted from a chapter, use a standard in-text citation for a quotation, which includes the author, year, and page number.

Parenthetical citation of a paraphrase from an authored book chapter: (Clason, 2008, Chapter number).

Parenthetical citation of a quotation:(Clason, 2008, p. number). 

Clason, G. S. (2008).  The richest man in Babylon (pp. 23-25). BN Publishing.

If you used information from just one chapter of an authored book, write a reference for the whole authored book

Edited book chapters( different authors for each chapter all complied together by an editor)

Create separate reference list entries for separate edited book chapters that you used.

Include edition number before page number(s) if applicable.
